Inside a DIY Battery Housing Kit for DeWalt Tools
Most battery packs look pretty similar from the outside. Open one up, and there’s a lot more to see.
In this video, we take a closer look at a battery housing kit for DeWalt tool battery builds before packing it for shipment. You can see the shell, cell holder, wiring, and assembly components, followed by the protective wrapping and boxing.
This kit is designed for ten 21700 cells in a 2P5S layout: five groups connected in series, with two cells in parallel in each group. It’s a housing and component kit; battery cells are not included.
One detail worth knowing when shopping for a kit: an “8Ah” label on a housing doesn’t determine the finished battery’s capacity. That depends on the cells used in the build.
At Panda Batteries, we supply cells, battery housings, and assembly parts for DIY projects. If you’re looking for a particular housing, send us a photo of your existing battery label and the tool model. That gives us a better starting point for checking the right option.
We’re based in Windsor, Ontario, and serve customers across Canada and the U.S. Worldwide shipping is also available.
