3.2V 314Ah LiFePO4 Cells in a 51.2V Energy Storage Build

A customer recently completed a 16S energy-storage battery using sixteen 3.2V 314Ah LiFePO4 cells supplied by Panda Batteries.

Before delivery, we checked the individual cell voltages and visually inspected the terminals and cell cases. Busbars, insulating sheets and fiberglass-reinforced tape were included with the order to support the customer’s battery assembly.
After receiving the cells, the customer installed them in a 51.2V nominal battery enclosure with a battery-management and monitoring system. The completed system is commonly described as a 48V-class LiFePO4 battery.
The customer later sent us these photographs and reported that the assembled battery was operating normally. At the time one photograph was taken, the display showed:

A 16S battery made from 3.2V cells has a nominal voltage of 51.2V. When built with 314Ah cells, its calculated nominal energy is approximately 16.1kWh. Actual usable energy depends on the battery-management settings, operating voltage range, temperature, cell condition and system design.
